In general, people are so anxious to take the trip that they establish the destination, choose the hotel, look for tourism packages and even sometimes rent a car and the airline ticket is forgotten.

Airline companies know about that and they can do many things just to create strategies to get the biggest profits they can from the buyer. The only way to prevent this from happening is to dedicate some time before travelling just looking for different companies that offer tickets to the destination you want, and comparing the prices.

Change last name on airline ticket ?

Hi,
I booked an international ticket on Lufthansa through an travel agent. The ticket was issued on my married name(last name).
But unfortunately the passport has my maiden name as the last name. I do have all supporting documents with my married name, like my green card, marriage license, also have visa in my passport with the mention of my spouse’s full name. When i called my travel agent abt changing my last name on the ticket to the maiden name , they tell me they have to reissue new ticket and i have to pay $400+difference in fare. So i called lufthansa, tehy tell me that the agent can contact their consolidator and change the name on the ticket.

is it possible for a last minute upgrade arline award ticket?

I’m traveling from D.C. to TOkyo using an award ticket by ANA….even though the rules said that you can’t upgrade your class (from econ to BUsiness) while using an award ticket, even if you are willing to pay the aditional points or money. but i was wonder if the airline make exception at the last minute? (i check the seating and business class is half empty while econ in completely PACKED)….so bottom line is do airline often broke the rules for their customer??? i’ve been ANA customer for 8 years now because of their quality of service…it’s really disappointing and unreasonable that they won’t let me change my reservation.

First name and Last name inverted on my flight reservation.?

I recently bought an international ticket to Colombia on Avianca directly through their website. However, when I received my confirmation email I noticed that my first and last name had been inverted. They are expecting someone with the name (EX: Smith Mark, instead of Mark Smith.)
I called the airline and they said they could not change it since the ticket had been already issued, and that it would all be left in the hands of the airline staff that day.

Do you think this will be a problem?

What is the best way to get a cheap flight at the last minute?

I am going on vacation in Fort Lauderdale, FL, for a 8 days in about a week. My husband wants to fly out for the weekend, from Chicago, but even though I paid 129 round trip for the flight, he can’t find anything less than 350 now! The plan is to wait until the very last minute, and hope for the best! I’ve been on hotwire, farecast, orbitz, and everything else I’ve ever heard of, but still no good deals! Does anyone have any secret tips, like waiting until the day before or the day of, calling the airlines, an awesome travel agency, any tips at all?! We are getting desperate!

Has anyone in the past 6 months waited until the last minute to purchase carnival cruise tickets?

My friends and i are wanting to take a cruise to the western caribbean in june 2008 and we are hoping that we wont have to pay full price for the tickets as they are $919 right now. we are hoping that if we wait until the last minute they will be deep discounts. we will want 2 rooms or if worse comes to worse we will all 4 share.

can you please tell me if you have any info regarding waiting til the last minute for deep discounts and if you had any issues on rooms being available? any information will help!
