If you are from the south states of America there is a good chance that you have visited Myrtle Beach. I have been there a number of times and each time I go there something new is always happening. It is a perfect place for beautiful white sandy beaches, night activities, festivals, bike weeks amongst more activities. So if you are planning on going to South Carolina, you have to make Myrtle Beach a destination on your list. Here is a list of the top 6 reasons why I think you should go to Myrtle Beach.

The Beaches – It goes without saying that you should visit the beach, I mean it is in the name of the city. But the question is which part of the city. This matters on if you are looking for a more laid back relaxing beach or more of a beach that has something going on. North Myrtle Beach is the area for those who want to relax and just enjoy the waves coming in and crashing on the shore. You can usually get a part of the beach that you can call your own. Now there is the main strip of Myrtle Beach, which is where I usually go. This is more of the tourist attraction area. So if you are looking for a fun boardwalk and places to get souvenirs for your trip.
Golf Course – Being that on any given day the weather is perfect (from Spring to Fall) it makes for a great place to try out some of the great courses. There is over 100 scenic courses that have been designed by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer.
Theme Parks – If you are a person that likes some thrills then this might be a great place to visit. There is a couple pretty cool theme parks and new in 2009 there is the new Freestyle Music Park. It was Hard Rock Park previously and was a great park then. It is now under new ownership and will have more than the last year. Nothing like riding a roller-coaster and then going to the beach to watch the sunset.
Shopping – Of course you are going to have your typical souvenirs and that can get old once you get a shirt or a couple hour glasses full of sand. But besides that they have great outdoor malls that have everything from shopping to night life all in the same area. Which can be fun once you run out of money or are tired of it you can always go and watch a show.
Broadway Type Shows – There are a number of good shows that are put on in Myrtle Beach. Everything from impersonators to regular shows like the Carolina Opry. A lot of the shows are centered around a more country theme, but it all goes with the territory.
The food – Now I know that a lot of people have different tastes when it comes to food choices. But if you are into either Southern style food or Seafood then you are in for a treat. You can find a lot of great places. If you go down to State road 17 you will be able to find a whole bunch of different restaurants that will make anyone happy.

I hope that this has helped you in learning about Myrtle Beach and all that it has to offer. It has something for everyone. A little roller-coasters, sun, food, shows and the beach. The hardest part of going to Myrtle Beach is choosing which thing to do first. I would say go to the beach and get that out of your blood. I mean that is the main reason everyone goes anyhow. Then I would say save a day or two for the theme parks and grab some great food every night. Then save the shopping for the last couple days. Have fun if you visit all the amusements in Myrtle Beach.
