There are beautiful hidden areas to be discovered, a play park, glass house, bandstand and more to be found within Hesketh Park but most prominent is the lovely lake.

At Churchtown you will find another wonderful park, the Botanic Gardens which features a lake laid out like a river featuring plenty of wildlife, swans and ducks plus an ornate bridge and boating plus if animals and birds are your thing the gardens also has a small zoo, just opposite the cafe and museum. Churchtown village is a graceful collection of old fishermen’s cottages, cottages and houses most commonly white and small number feature a roof of thatch.
