It's a desert island so it's not as lush and pretty as most other islands but it's still nice - the bigger hotels all have really nice landscaping. There are lots of fantastic restaurants, a bunch of casinos, a private island, the beaches are nice. The only downside is that it can be pricey, especially if you're staying in one of the nicer hotels but if you go during off-season (which starts in Apirl) you should be able to find a good deal. You might enjoy Aruba. It’s a desert island so it’s not as lush and pretty as most other islands but it’s still nice – the bigger hotels all have really nice landscaping. I would rule out Jamaica first. The place is a beggars paradise and crime through the roof. Bahamas is very overpriced. What does Mexico offer that our country does not? Oh...a bunch of beggars daily for you..that's what. Miami is just as international as you want, but very crowed with loads of crime. You could really enjoy New York or Boston for that kind of money, but not sure if your looking for sun as it sounds. Thus my choice would be Cabo which is still somewhat sane. I just get tired of beggers and little orphan children begging. This seems to be a novice enlightenment for Americans that haven't seen the real world.
