What do I need to know in order to plan a vacation to Niagara Falls? ?

I would like to plan a vacation for my husband and I to Niagara Falls this coming winter. We live in Maryland. We both have passports, but do we also need visas? What should we know about traveling into Canada? What airlines or travel agencies should we consider?
