I want to go to hawaii with my kids…?

this June or July but am on a budget. I went to AAA and they said it’d be $1,000 a ticket. I also found the same thing on the internet or the airlines as I wouldn’t be able to change my reservations and because of the scams. But I was told that AAA is expensive. AAA said not to buy on the internet. Any suggestions on some reputable travel agents in Mountain View/Sunnyvale that might have ideas on how to get there w/o the high cost? haven’t taken them on a vacation in 10 years and they have relatives there so that’s the reason it’s Hawaii.

When my spouse and I went to Hawaii… we booked our air tickets separately (American Airlines) and looked for condos separately on the internet… we ended up getting a pretty good deal. Try http://www.vrbo.com and similar websites.

im not sure which island you want to go to and exactly what dates…if i did i would do some quick searches for you. i ALWAYS by my tickets online. well, i didn’t once and i learned my lesson. i went through a travel agent and ended up paying about $50 more. i know that’s not a lot some people but it’s a whole lot to me especially because i was going back home to hawaii for 2 months and needed all the spending money i could get. that’s 50 bucks that i could have used to buy me some portugese sausage and maui hot dogs! i often book my tickets with cheaptickets.com. i booked through another site once for an interisland ticket and ended up getting charged for membership for a few companies i never heard of…so when booking online read everything and don’t just click “yes” or “i accept” like i did. i have to stop doing that…it gets me in trouble. good luck and happy travels!

    aloha!

edit…oh and if you have family there…maybe you can save money by staying with them…that’s what i do. it would cost me a fortune to stay in a hotel for 2 months! if anything i would stay in one for a week to hide out from everyone for a little bit…lol.

It sounds to me like you live in California. If that’s the case, Hawaiian Air often has CA to HI specials on their website. Go to http://www.HawaiianAir.com.

Maui is sometimes referred to as the island of condos because it has so many. Go to http://www.VRBO.com to search for condo rentals. My husband and I found a one bed condo on Maui this way last fall for $85 a night. A condo is great when you have kids, because it has a full kitchen. One tip I will share with you, ask the condo owner in advance who delivers pizza to their condo.

    Have Fun!
