Best airlines for international travel?

My fiance and I are considering traveling to Paris next year. We will be departing from NY. What are the best airlines for international travel? We cant afford to fly first class so we are looking for the most affordable airline with the most comfortable coach or business class accommodations. Any suggestions?
the JFK airport
You have lot’s of choices, you might try websites like Kayak.com that search the major airlines and discount websites to find the best price. Also check out Air France, they’ll have direct flights to Paris from NY. I always think it’s good to fly an airline from the country you’re going to, it gives you a taste of what to expect when you get there and Air France is a good airline. Lot’s of other airlines, from all over the world offer flights to Paris.
Singapore Airlines (SQ)
Which New York Area airport? JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark?
Out of Newark, Continental is the best (I highly recommend them, they have the best service in the airline industry)
Out of JFK, take Air France, the service was ok, and American Airlines flies there too, but the service was not good at all.
Out of LaGuardia, I’m not familiar with any trans-atlantic flights out of LGA
Air France or Delta
The best ones. Really comfortable.
Singapore Airlines constantly wins awards for their service and planes in general. I think they’re great having flown with them a few times now. (Their international flights have the screens in the backs of the seats which is handy too, I hate it when I have to put up with a really boring movie that everyone has to watch.) You’ll likely have to transit through SIngapore but Changi International is SO easy to find you’re way around and you’ll always find somehting to amuse yourself no matter how long betwen flights you have to stay there. (Inside the airport are short stay hotels, shops, a smoking section, cafes galore and as much duty free that you can poke a stick at.)
I flew continental and their international planes are very nice. couch is pretty comfy for the average sized person. Each person gets their very own tv in the headrest in front of them, and they have very good service. We left from Newark flew into Rome, then left from Paris to Newark.

As for flights to Paris, Air france is to be recommended.
In fact, on such a route with great competition between major airlines and as for first class, you may simply book the cheapest one for the travel dates/hours and the class you are looking for.
There is indeed no significant difference between first class of major airlines, but personal preferences, including frequent flyer program of airlines of the same alliance (miles points). Air France is member of the Sky team, just like the american airlines Delta and Nothwest.
Find the cheapest flights on your travel dates with Travelocity or another good booking site which has been selected here:

Travelocity usually offers the best deals from the market
.
I would go with American Airlines, Continental or Air France. All three airlines have a similar standard of service in Economy and all fly direct to Paris from New York.
You can book flights and compare flight prices with all airlines at the following website, that way you know you are getting THE very cheapest flight available. http://www.flyglasgow.net/
Ignore the people saying Singapore Airlines. They clearly have not read your question.
While Singapore Airlines is about the best there is, they obviously do not fly from NY to Paris. Air France will probably be about the best that you will get at a reasonable price.
Check out http://www.kayak.com for comparisons in cost.
The best I’ve traveled in was Korean Air. Top service even in the economy class. Spacious leg room too.
